is the search hierarchy for most Internet search engines:
- Domain name (URL) includes the search term
- Frequency of the search term in the site’s
text.
- How many other Web sites have links to your
site (reciprocal link programs sometimes lower your search rankings.)
How
to make your Web site SEO friendly:
- Use
search terms in the title of each of your Web pages.
- Choose
descriptive text.
- Add
an alternate description to the photos on your page, the benefits
of which are two-fold: one- you will be in compliance with the Americans
with Disabilities Act (ADA) that helps people with vision and communication
problems access the Internet AND you will be adding key search terms
to your page.
- Make
at least 10-15 keywords that describe your site and include these
keywords in the keyword meta-tag on your site.
- Learn
how to tell the search engines to return periodically to reindex
your site.
