delivers Web-based records check service for contractors and consumers
ContractorFacts.com,
a Phoenix, Arizona-based company, provides instant, online contractor
history reports over the Internet. The Web site allows clients to
search millions of records from multiple data sources and deliver
an instant snapshot of a contractor's financial and other liabilities,
liens and lawsuits.
The
Challenge
Since
ContractorFacts.com Corporation was offering an entirely new, Web-based
service, increasing consumer education and industry buy-in was a critical
component of new product introduction. ContractorFacts.com's major
competitor was not another financial and legal reporting company,
but, rather, a government entity, the Arizona Registrar of Contractors
(ROC).
The
Arizona ROC had made major strides towards improving its consumer
protection services and outreach and most Arizona consumers had no
idea that they could check ROC license records plus millions of other
data from public and private sources over the Internet in realtime,
avoiding a trip downtown to physically inspect complaints and other
reports on file at the ROC.
Emediex
developed and implemented an online public relations program to educate
and inform potential customers of this new service. The program included
media relations, search engine marketing and Web site usability improvements.
The
Results
ContractorFacts.com
was featured on the six o'clock news on a top-rated local news channel
and targeted visitors to the Web site increased three fold and its
conversion rate (visitors to clients) increased over 1000%.
